About MCDS

Gossard Seedling

The Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society (MCDS) is a great place to learn about daylilies and gardening and to meet people with similar interests. Current members include a wide range of garden owners throughout the State of Ohio. These garden owners include daylily hybridizers, commercial growers, farmers, landscapers and private backyard gardeners. The club created and helps maintain the Ohio Daylily Hybridizer Garden on Franklin Park Conservatory (FPC) property. This garden was created using plants donated by the members and Ohio Daylily Hybridizers. MCDS was founded in 1985 and is a 5013C non profit organization. You can join the club by filling our a membership application and mailing it to our membership secretary along with your payment.

MCDS is affiliated with the American Daylily Society (ADS) and is located in ADS Region 2. MCDS membership currently includes about 115 members.

We typically have spring, summer, fall and winter meetings and an annual daylily show in July.  We also have annual Daylily show in July and a public plant sale in August.  Almost all of our events take place at Franklin Park Conservatory except for special events such as garden bus trips and our daylily show.  Our members also typically attend Regional and National ADS meetings or conventions in June or July.
